On Sunday nights we meet together as a ministry team to pray, to spend time in the Word and talking about whatever the Lord is putting in our hearts. Last night, we spent time in Philippians 1:1-11. Every time I read Philippians I wonder why I don't read it more. It is so encouraging and it causes me to think about my brothers and sisters-in-Christ from all over the world. I want to exhort you all to read it and think and meditate on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there is any virtue and anything praiseworthy.
"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace. For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:3-8
The phrase that comes to mind is turning Memories into Ministry. Whenever you think about someone, don't just reflect on the memories, but pray for them instead. Maybe even give them a call or send them an email or "SNAIL MAIL" :) .
